Class Description: We will have lots of fun in our Kindergarten class. We will be exploring all subjects as time permits. I have planned for our class to learn Bible, Nursery Rhymes, Science, Geography, History, Language Arts, Phonics, Math, and many others. Each class will consist of circle time (instruction, songs, and games). We will not be able to complete each subject every week, as there just isn’t enough time, but we will mix it up a bit, so the children are learning different things from different areas each week. We will create a craft that is related to the topics we went over during class. We will also a lot time for some yummy snacks that parents send for their child. I am not using a specific curriculum. I am basing my lessons on seasons, months, holidays, etc. My goal for this class is to learn some unique things they may not learn at home. I have some fun hands-on activities prepared. We will do some table work, as it does enhance instruction, but our focus is to create something unique that relates to our daily topic. Some of our activities will be messy, so please dress your child accordingly each school day. I try to send an email if we will be playing in dirt, making slime, painting, etc. We will have a lot of fun. Can’t wait!
Required Textbooks and Materials: Students should bring a classwork/homework folder, backpack, snack, extra change of clothes, and a coat or jacket for cooler days. I will provide crayons, markers, scissors, glue, pencils and other school supplies.
Homework Estimate: Some, but not a lot. Usually just memorizing a Nursery Rhyme, or something like that.

Teacher Bio: I have been homeschooling all 3 of my children from the very beginning of their elementary years. I have rising 7th, 5th, and 3rd graders. I have a degree in Child Development and Families Studies that has helped me understand children and their learning styles. My family has been at CCA since 2015. I try to teach things a homeschool mom wouldn’t normally do at home: science experiments, unique crafts, and learning facts about our world.
